The Office of Speaker's Counsel provides legal advice to the Speaker, Clerk of the House and departments throughout the House of Commons.
What you'll do
- Advise on construction contracts
- Review commercial contracts
- Provide procurement advice
- Research complex legal issues
- Prepare written legal advice
- Support Parliamentary departments
- Advise on broader legal matters when required
- Work collaboratively with other counsel
What we're looking for
- Qualified solicitor or barrister in England and Wales
- Commercial law knowledge
- Contract law experience
- Strong research skills
- Excellent written communication
- Excellent oral communication
- Ability to explain complex legal matters
- Strong analytical ability
